Pledge to Share the Road with Aloha!

Farmers Insurance Hawaii has partnered with the Hawaii Bicycling League to urge Hawaii drivers to pledge to make our roads safer for everyone. Farmers Insurance Hawaii kicks off the “Share The Road with Aloha” campaign today to encourage drivers to pledge to make a personal commitment to share the road when following a bicyclist, to pass slowly on the left and give 3 feet of space, and to allow a bicyclist full use of a lane per state law. Hot Spots at Kalakaua Middle

Location: Kalakaua Middle School, 821 Kalihi Street

Last year, the State Department of Transportation Pedestrian Master Plan identified Kalihi Street between North King Street and Dillingham Boulevard as one of 13 areas of concern for pedestrian safety on Oahu, as eight accidents involving pedestrians occurred in a four year period. This year, Kalakaua Middle School is reminding drivers to slow down in this dangerous crossing area for students and pedestrians. Read More >
